1. Service Description

AURA is a multi-channel AI chatbot platform that allows businesses ("Tenants") to create, configure, and deploy AI-powered chatbots on their websites and messaging platforms. AURA provides infrastructure; Tenants provide their own content and, optionally, their own LLM API keys (BYOK).

2. Acceptable Use

You must not use AURA to:

  • Send spam, unsolicited messages, or bulk commercial communications
  • Generate, distribute, or store illegal content
  • Impersonate individuals, organizations, or official entities
  • Circumvent access controls or security measures
  • Scrape data from AURA or third-party services via automated bots
  • Violate the terms of service of your LLM provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq, etc.)

Violation of acceptable use may result in immediate account suspension without refund.

3. BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) — API Key Responsibility

If you provide your own LLM API key, you assume full and sole responsibility for:

  • The security of your API key and its storage outside of AURA
  • All charges incurred through use of your API key, whether through AURA or any other means
  • Unauthorized usage or charges if your key is compromised by a third party
  • Compliance with your LLM provider's terms of service

AURA encrypts your API key at rest using AES-256-CBC and does not share, sell, or access it for any purpose other than making API requests on your behalf. However, AURA is not liable for any unauthorized use or charges resulting from your API key being compromised through means outside of AURA's systems.

You are strongly advised to: set spending limits in your LLM provider dashboard, monitor your API usage regularly, and rotate your key immediately if you suspect compromise.

4. Billing & Payments

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance
  • Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details
  • Refunds are provided at our discretion within 7 days of the billing date
  • Downgrading your plan takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle
  • Overdue accounts may be suspended after 14 days notice

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AURA shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Loss of revenue or data resulting from service interruptions
  • Failures or limitations of third-party services including Meta (WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram), Slack, or LLM providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq, etc.)
  • Unauthorized charges on your LLM provider accounts resulting from API key compromise outside of AURA
  • Actions taken by your chatbot visitors

Our maximum liability to you shall not exceed the fees paid by you in the 3 months preceding the claim.

6. Data & Privacy

Our collection and use of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using AURA, you consent to the practices described therein.

7. Service Availability

We aim for 99.5% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance will be announced at least 24 hours in advance. We are not liable for downtime caused by third-party infrastructure providers.

8. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of your content (knowledge base documents, chatbot configurations, conversation data). AURA retains ownership of the platform, code, and infrastructure. You grant AURA a limited license to process your content solely to provide the service.

9. Termination & Data Deletion

  • You may cancel your account at any time from your billing settings
  • Upon cancellation, your data will be retained for 30 days then permanently deleted
  • AURA may terminate accounts that violate these Terms with or without notice
  • Upon termination by AURA for cause, no refund will be issued for the current billing period

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will notify you by email and prompt you to re-accept the updated Terms on your next login. Continued use of AURA after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which AURA is incorporated. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
